Back from Singapore

Just back from Singapore last night. Still remember my last visit there was almost 5 years back when i was still a year-one med student..

This time i went with dear dear. We didn't actually plan it beforehand. It was just that we found cheap flight ticket (only MYR2 and MYR11 for to and fro per person) a day before we departed so we went. We didn't tour around the island but just visit our siblings there..

Another main attraction that drove me there was jie moved into her new 4-storey house !! It is indeed a very cozy place by the sea.. i love the view from her topmost floor---- the seaside view with the green simply mesmerized me!! so regretful that i thought i would be able to snap some photo back the next day so i didn't take any during my first day there and only realized that i was running out of time the next day before we headed back to airport :(

mmm... really looking forward for a well-planned vacation there. Shall arrange one before i finish the next posting.. (haha, not even started the posting but already looking forward finishing it :P)

haha, as what dear dear said, this was only a testing trip for the next, ha...

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord that He gives me everything that comes to me.. if it is not Lord, i won't be able to make all this possible. Last Friday was my last day in medical before i go on leave, i was so delighted that my specialist told me that i passed my posting very well, few of the MOs even asked me to go back for my MO-ship. When i tried to recall back everything happened to me throughout the past 4 months, this rushed into my mind... the long-lost memory.. Not long after i joined medical posting (approximately 1 month), a then soon-to-leave specialist (now left) told me this, "Liau, you are good, keep up your work, take up your exam faster, don't waste too much time." Praise the Lord for all the compliment, thank God for His guidance. May God continue to bless me and guide me through, Amen.

*the ECG up there belongs to one of my patient that complained of chest pain during my call, it's a perfectly normal sinus rhythm ECG with heart rate of approximately 75bpm. I kept it in my pocket and totally forgot to attach it back into his folder :P

My studio apartment

Everyone has been wondering how's my hostel looks like since i started my housemanship. Ha.. Sorry for delaying in updating, here are a few pictures of my studio apartment.. Once entering into the room, there will be a kitchen on my right. (I added an induction plate that papa bought me in between the kettle and fridge)

Then here it comes a big mirror in which i'll look at every time i left for work :)

And this is a super single- sized bed for me. I'll usually sleep soundly soon after i lie down despite how much effort i put in keeping myself awake for some reading. (used to sleep for 15 hours straight in the weekend after my call, from 2+pm on Saturday till 5+ morning the next day before i prepared myself to ward again)

At the bed end, there's a corner i spend most of the time if i'm not too tired for the day.. :)
And my bathroom is on the left.. hot shower is 24 hours ready! The nicest and most enjoyable part after a whole day in the ward :)

The Art of Racing In the Rain

Borrowed 'The Art of Racing In The Rain' by Garth Stein from friend soon after my exam as i was told that this is one of the popular and best-selling book. This indeed is an interesting book and it touches me in certain point.
Enzo knows he is different from other dogs; he has a human mind, he is obsessed with the opposition of human thumbs and has its own explaination why his couldn't oppose just like any human. His master, Denny, a well-known F1 racer shares everything with him including his life, his family and even his TV programmes. So, Enzo has educated himself by watching television extensively, and by listening very closely to the words of his master. Through Denny, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition, and he sees that life, like racing, isn't simply about going fast. Using the techniques needed on the race track, everyone can successfully navigate all of life's ordeals. Prior to his death, Enzo takes stock of his life, recalling all that he and his family have been through: the sacrifices Denny has made to succeed professionally; the unexpected loss of Eve, Denny's wife; the three-year battle over their daughter, Zoë, whose maternal grandparents pulled every string to gain custody etc.
What an uplifting story of family, love, loyalty, and hope! As only a dog could speak....
